A Hobbit’s Tale
NICO CAPRIOTTI
Like most tattoo artists, I’ve been drawing my entire life. From stick figures and copying manga, to realism and comics, I’ve always been on a journey to find my “style” while strengthening my artistic skills in all mediums.
In 2015 I collaborated with three fellow artists and we created Ditton Comics. A webcomic site where we create a variety of comics that showcase inclusivity and highlight that there is no “one right way” to draw comics. While I continue to collaborate with the other Dittons to create comic content, my passion for art continued to push me in a direction where I could connect with others and help bring their artistic visions to life.
In 2020 (while the world collapsed around us) I jumped in with both feet to begin tattoo school and graduate later that same year. The school I attended was also a studio where I was able to spend time honing both foundational, practical, and business skills.
During 2022-2023 I co-owned a studio located in Forest Grove, called Kaiju Tattoo. I am so beyond proud of what we accomplished and created. Thanks to Kaiju, we showed clients and our community that tattoo shops can be not only free of judgment, but welcoming and safe.
In 2024 I jumped even farther and went further by earning my Esthetics and Advanced Esthetics license. I took time to grow, learn new skills, and build on foundational ones by tattooing inside of a spa in the heart of downtown Beaverton.
I have endless support and trust from every client I work with, and am deeply honored to be where I am today. I’m excited to continue this lifelong journey, to see where it brings me, and how I will grow from it. Most of all, I’m grateful for you as I would not be here without clients trusting me with their visions.
